What can i say, This is a true katana. Very well made. No loose fittings and razor sharp. Super fast shipping and great packaging. Cut right through tatami mats with ease. This ia a real sword, not a cheap wall hanger. Thank you.
I both doubt and hope I never have a use for this. However, it is simply beautifully crafted. The fact that it is a practical sword as well as such a work of art makes for a perfect combination.
Great Katana sword at a great price! Very beautiful, pre-sharpened, just a work of art at this price! No doubt there are many better swords out there at hundreds, even thousands more, but for the price I could not be happier! Nicely balanced, solid, and sharp both in looks and to the touch. Very good description of the sword on Amazon, shipping time was very fast, and it was packaged very well. This is a company doing it right!
It sits proudly on my head board unless I am practicing with it. Well balanced and constructed. I bought it used and have no complaints. Cold Steel makes good stuff, if only it was made in the USA it would be better.
Very impressive right out of the box. Well packaged. I purchased this as a gift for a student. The blade is solid and sharp - the quality it apparent. The blade is tight very tight in the saya (scabbard.) The katana itself is very well balanced.
I was very impressed by the quality of this katana when I pulled it out of the box. The blade was well made and came with a certificate of authenticity that detailed the basic qualities of the sword as a whole. I wouldn't say it was razor sharp but it was sharp enough to do the basic cut tests, in which it held as expected for it's particular price. The artwork on the handle is well crafted and gives it it's own unique look which I personally like. I would say it's better than average for its price, so if you want a better sword you'll need to pay more.
this is a good quality sword for practicing but a fraction of the cost of a Japanese sword. Beware the blade is extremely sharp and highly recommend the maintenance kit as the sword needs to be cleaned and oiled every time you use it and at least monthly if just displayed.
My son has a sword collection from my past military service in the USMC and USNR, so the Samurai was a nice addition!! Thanks for the quality reproduction:-)
I am very impressed with this sword. The craftsmanship on the handle and hilt are very strong. It came sharpened, but not super sharp, it does come with a layer of grease to prevent rusting, Which is white. The entire construction is sturdy and has a great feel to it. I don't know if it's just an imprinted coloring on the blade or not. But I will say if it turns out to be a plain carbon steel blade, it still is worth way more then paid .
